Fit Neighborhood Launches ‘Back to School’ Campaign Benefiting Children of Haiti
Newly Launched Private Gym Specializing in Equipping Families for Success Joins Haiti Relief Efforts
ATLANTA, GA –While most American children get their books, pencils and paper ready to go back to school, many Haitian children, especially those who may
have lost their parents in the earthquake, struggle to find the resources to be properly equipped for the schools that have reopened. Fit Neighborhood, a newly launched private gym in Southwest Atlanta offering indoor boot camp, fitness classes and personal training, is conducting a Back to School drive to benefit Hope for Haitian Children Foundation (www.hopeforhaitianchildrenfoundation.org), an orphanage in Port-au-Prince.
“A significant part of our gym’s mission is not only focusing on our own personal progress and success, but making a commitment to encourage and equip others for personal growth and success,” said Meika Louis-Pierre, owner and mother of two preschoolers. “It’s been six months since the earthquake, and the families of Haiti need our help now more than ever. We have a tremendous opportunity to collectively help families in need reshape their lives.”
First launched in April, Fit Neighborhood is a group fitness studio committed to shaping healthier communities and equipping families and neighborhoods for lifestyle change, optimum health and overall success. In addition to personal and group training for men, women and children of all ages, the facility regularly offers and participates in community events and enrichment programs.
Fit Neighborhood’s ‘Back to School’ drive for Hope for Haitian Children Foundation begins on Monday, August 2 and extends until August 31. The gym will accept new and gently used children’s clothing, shoes, book bags and school supplies.
“Most of our clients are parents who can relate to this hectic time of year when it is time to get kids back in school,” said Louis-Pierre. “It only makes sense to
extend our hand to those still struggling to resume a normal life.”
Donations will be accepted at Fit Neighborhood, located 5495 Cascade Road SW Suite 109, at the intersection of Cascade Road and Fulton Industrial. For more information, visit www.fitneighborhood.com or call (404) 549-8785.
